TOPIC: Can't Add Suffix to URL

Can't Add Suffix to URL 14 years, 3 months ago #14254

Hello,

for some reason I am having trouble adding suffixes (i.e. .html) to my url's. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Donald

Hello,

What exactly is the problem with the suffix? Go to JoomSEF Configuration and set "File suffix" to ".html" for example. Of course you need to delete the already created URLs and clear the JoomSEF's cache for this change to take effect.

Thanks David,

I did'nt even think about updating the url's! lol

instead of creating all new url's (and filling in a new descriptions and tags) could I just manually add .html to my existing url's?

Also, show I have mod_rewrite turned on?

I know this are dumb questions, but I'm new to this.

Many thanks,

Donald

Yes, you can use the Manage SEF URLs page to manually add the suffix to your SEF URLs.
We are working on some changes to JoomSEF's core so the meta tags won't be deleted when you update URLs, but that will take some time.

Yes, mod_rewrite needs to be enabled for JoomSEF to work.
