TOPIC: automatic rewrite rule in .htaccess after change

automatic rewrite rule in .htaccess after change 14 years ago #18965

Hello,
i have problems with changes I have done regarding articles etc.
Does JoomSEF writes automatically 301 redirects when I change something regarding the URL´s ?

I have changed the category of an article and the link is well changed.
But there is no redirect rule for the old link.

Is it possible to realize this?
Please tell me how :)

Best regards to the support of an great tool.

Gerrit

Hello,

If the "Use Moved Permanently redirection table" option is enabled in JoomSEF's Advanced configuration, then when you manually edit some SEF URL, you will be asked if you want to create an 301 redirection from the old one.
The 301 redirections are also created automatically if you use the Update URLs function.

The 301 redirections are not created in .htaccess file, but you can manage them using the Manage 301 Redirects page in JoomSEF.

Best regards,
