TOPIC: weblinks problem

weblinks problem 16 years, 4 months ago #4500

Artio: 2.2.7 (same problem with 2.2.6)
PHP: 5.2.4
Joomla! 1.0.15

I have weblinks with external links that don't function correctly. I think this problem ocurred after my provider upgraded to PHP 5.2.4 because it worked fine before, but I'm not sure this caused the problem.

example:

on this page:
www.6directions.nl/links/qi-gong.html

I have links to external sites. In the backend the first link is configured as:
Name: Chi Centre
URL: www.chicentre.nl/

but in the frontend the link is converted by artio to:
www.6directions.nl/links/qi-gong/chi-centre.html

Artio should leave the original URL alone and don't convert it at all, but somehow it doesn't.

I'm all out of ideas... help!

Hello,

If you use the Weblinks component for the links, they actually look like 'index.php?option=com_weblinks&catid=2&id=1&task=view' on Joomla's page and after you click it, it gets redirected to the external URL, so it is OK that JoomSEF makes nice link for this.
Try setting handling to nocache or skip for com_weblinks in JoomSEF's configuration to see if it helps.

Best regards,

Edit: My mistake, you cannot change the handling for weblinks component in current version. Try turning JoomSEF off to see if the links work and it is really JoomSEF's problem. If it is, try setting Error reporting to Maximum in Joomla Global configuration on the Server tab, so there will be actual error reported instead of blank page when you click the link.
