I am moving a Joomla 1.0 site to 1.5 with both using JoomSEF. I was wondering if there is a tutorial for migrating all of the old data over in order to minimize any broken links once I make the new site go live.

I tried this migration once before but I had so many dead and broken links that it led to thousands of 404 errors each day. Is there anyone that might be able to give me a basic sequence of what I need to do? The old site has nearly 10000 entries in the jos_redirection table.

Hello,

The problem is, that Joomla core components like Content or Poll use very different URLs in 1.5, so you would probably need to change those links manually or create a script for that.
The URLs of 3rd party components could work if their developers didn't change the URL format in their 1.5 compatible versions.
