I have transferred several thousand articles from a non-Joomla site into Joomla. I want to keep all of my backlinks. All of the urls for the articles appear as:

mysite.com/Article/This-is-the-article-title/8657

In joomSEF I can only get:

mysite.com/This-is-the-article-title-8657

How can I add "Article" to appear before each article from com_content?

How do I replace the -8657 with /8657 for the id of the article?

I think my only option is to do a Rewrite rule for .htaccess, which I don't know how to do.

There is no setting for such customization of the URLs in JoomSEF. You would need to either modify the Content extension's code so that it creates URLs you need, or create some custom rewrite rules in .htaccess file.
