Hi
we have been lucky enough to have google news agree to include our content into their Google News feed, this however has presented a technical problem,
We use Artio SEF which creates fantastic URLs, but as per email from Google below they want a unique ID added to them. I have checked the doco but couldnt find anything.
In addition, in order to have your articles crawled by Google News, each
article URL must contain a number consisting of at least three digits. For
example, our news crawler can't crawl an article with this URL:
www.google.com/news/article23.html. It can, however, crawl an
article with this URL: www.google.com/news/article234.html
Please note that if the only digits in your article URL resemble a year
(e.g. \"1999\" or \"2007\"), our system may not be able to crawl your content.
If you're able to restructure each of your URLs to include a number
consisting of at least three digits, Google News should automatically
begin indexing your content shortly thereafter. For additional assistance
with common technical issues, please visit our Publisher Help Center at
www.google.com/support/news_pub where you'll find extensive,
We want to keep our nice Artio SEF and we dont want to break any inbound links to existing content but really want the Google News Traffic.
Appreciate any comments
Thanks
Mike Nicholls
