I have JoomSEF installed and everything seems to be working fine except that the metadata we've entered for the category list pages isn't coming through. When you open a category list page, the general site metadata shows, not the metadata that we entered under Manage Meta Tags. What am I doing wrong? thanks! (PS the site is still on development server, so I can't turn on Joomla SEF, yet)

so is the SEO on development server?
If everything works except that the metadata are not shown then:
1. try to clear cache and check if that has helped

if not, then
2. make sure (in SEF URLs Manager) that there is the URL for category stored and the metadata defined within. Also make sure, there are no duplicated URLs - same SEF URLs. (you may use Duplicates tab to confirm it)

3. make sure that JoomSEF plugin is published and that there is not other plugin following, that might be modifying the metas set by the JoomSEF plugin.
(JoomSEF plugin should always be ordered as first (or among the first ones) within the system plugins)

Clearing cache didn't help.

Plugin is enabled and at the top of the list.

The URL's exist and have metadata entered. I still get universal metatags on the pages instead of the specific tags for that category.

Temporary site is at 74.52.121.38/~seaside/. Note that the same metatags show on the home page and on, for example, Artists C-D, and yet there are custom tags defined for the category page.
