this feed seems to be quite old, anyway...
I now checked this fucnitonality in JoomSEF 2.3.3. I made the first item in the mainmenu a Static content item (Joomla license article when using default Joomla preinstalled content). When I access site root, the correct page is displayed (Joomla license article).

So I do not really see a problem in JoomSEF functionality regarding this and I believe it is just some configuration issue. Maybe we could agree on 1h of support and we could check this problem for you?

First off. Thank you so much for responding. With a little more detail you will be able to replicate the problem.

This issue only occurs in Production.. Does not show up in development with localhost and subdirectory..

If we set mainmenu item 1 to a static page, and com_frontpage is item 2, when you go to www.domain.com the default page brings your to the 2nd item..

Seems that in production com_frontpage trumps all others when going to the domain root.

I understand, but based on the logics how JoomSEF works, I do not see any reason why the same thing should not work in domain root. Moreover, we did such configuration on several websites already.

So maybe you can throw in a live example then.
