I have upgraded my site to Joomla 2.5 and Virtuemart 2.
I migrated my database to the new standards so I don't have to make all new products etc.
So my product descriptions are from the old site and there are 2 old links to article's in the prod.description text.

In Joomsef these old links have now a SEF-url that says "content". Both old links to two different pages have the same SEF-url.

The new url to the article has a nice working SEF url and when I put the old non-sef url in the alias-field of the new url it still does not get redirected and it shows the global 404-page.

I spend all morning figuring this out and reading the manual but I can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong? What do I have to do to get it working...

This is an old url from the previous site that has been SEF-ed. The automaticly generated SEFurl has the value 'content'. This is the original non SEF URL: index.php?option=com_content&catid=7&id=5&view=article&Itemid=7
The OLD URL-record above is enabled and sef is turned of.

These are the URL's for the right article that I'm using now:

New SEF URL: infotips/inlijsten/uw-lijst-op-maat-gemaakt
Old non SEF URL: index.php?option=com_content&catid=16&id=28&view=article
ItemID: 267

I'm sorry for the delay.

I've tested the Aliases and found out that Joomla 2.5 currently removes the "index.php" part from the URL when it gets handled by JoomSEF, so try removing the index.php from your Aliases, start with the "?" character, like this:
?option=com_content&catid=7&id=5&view=article&Itemid=7
?option=com_content&view=article&id=5:lijstopmaat&catid=7:maatwerk&Itemid=7
?option=com_content&view=article&id=5&catid=7&Itemid=7

That way the Aliases should be redirected to the SEF URL correctly.
