I just updated my site from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5. I installed the latest version of JomSef 4.3.0 for Joomla 2.5, however I cannot get my component to have a Custom URL Title. The only component that gets a custom url title is jomsocial for which I have paid and downloaded from artio.

Now I have a jos_sefurls table(the old 1.5 table) and a new j25_urls table. I notice there is not much difference in the fields and when I rename the jos_sefurls to j25 I get back my 1.5 sef urls. However the new urls are not getting created as the ones I had before. ie my custom title I have set my component to isn't creating my type of urls.

One thing I noticed that my jos_sefexts table contains data which I presume are the configuration settings that make the URL have a Custom Title for 1.5. The case is that when I save the settings under SeF to use Joomsef Basic Rewriting I do not see this data being saved to my j25_sefexts table which I presume is the table that needs the configuration settings for my custom components in Joomla 2.5.

Also, after saving my settings when I click on Update URLs when I only have 120 URLs generated the countdown of URL complete just keeps adding up to infinite number of URLs. I have to close the browser to stop it.

1. My issues are basically how to get Joomsef to add custom urls for my components. ei why isn't j25_sefext being populated with configuration data when saving.

2. Can I rename jos_sefurls to j25_urls to bring over my SEF urls from Joomla 1.5 by just rename the table?

3. Can I do the same for jos_sefexts? I tried this and it still didn't have any effect on the new URLs.

4. Why when I click on update urls the number just keeps growing even though there is just a limited number about 125.

5. How can I get support to look into my issue as soon as possible? Is there a link I can contact?

Yes, you can copy over the jos_sefurls table - I'm just not sure about your j25_urls, JoomSEF 4 doesn't use the _urls table, it also uses the _sefurls, so it should be j25_sefurls (assuming your Joomla 2.5 uses the j25_ prefix).
However some Joomla 2.5 components may use different URLs structure than in Joomla 1.5 which may cause unexpected problems. There may also be problems if your articles or categories have different IDs in Joomla 2.5 than they had in Joomla 1.5.

You can't just copy over the settings for extensions - in Joomla 2.5 the extensions configuration is stored in Joomla's _extensions table in the params column. Unfortunately the syntax of stored parameters is different between Joomla 1.5 and 2.5, so you can't just copy them - you'll need to manually set the parameters again in Joomla 2.5. Latest version of JoomSEF 4 creates the _sefexts table only for backwards compatibility, but it usually stays empty.

We've never encountered the problem you describe with Update URLs function, it seems like there's some problem with the AJAX call.
