Are you sure that your Joomla is 2.5.7? This problem happens with JoomSEF 4.3.0 on Joomla older than 2.5.6. I could't replicate it on 2.5.7, but it appears on 2.5.4 for example.
If you can, try updating your Joomla to the latest 2.5.8. Of course make a backup of your website first just in case.

Anyway it's not related to the missing tabs in Extensions Management. Does it happen in all the extensions or just some of them? Does it also happen if you open parameters for some Component without SEF Extension installed?

Also please post some information about your server configuration, like web server and its version (Apache/IIS) and PHP version. Thank you.
