Hi,

Please check my site

test.guru99.com/

It is based on Joomla 1.7

I have installed paid version of SEF 4.

The site is upgrade from Joomla 1.5 to 1.7

Right now links - test.guru99.com/software-testing.html

as well as test.guru99.com/software-testing

BOTH work

I want only links with ".html" to work for SEO purposes. While I want Joomla to show a page not found error for links like - test.guru99.com/software-testing

How this can be done ?

Hi,
Try disabling the "Parse Joomla SEO links" in JoomSEF's Advanced configuration.

Hi,

I have upgraded the joomsef version to 4.2
Disabling the "Parse Joomla SEO links" in JoomSEF's Advanced configuration results in 404 error on my pages.

Let me know what can be done..

Thanks,

If "Parse Joomla SEO links" is disabled, the URLs that use Joomla's default router stop working, so all the components used must have JoomSEF extension installed and active or use JoomSEF's basic rewriting, so their URLs can be stored in JoomSEF database. Otherwise every URL not stored in JoomSEF's database results in 404 error.

Even after disabling "Parse Joomla SEO links" and using JoomSEF's basic rewriting option, Custom 404 pages option in the artio section is not working and urls with .html and without .html extensions(both) are working.

I want urls without .html extension should redirect to Custom 404 page.

How can we solve this?

Open the Manage SEF URLs page in JoomSEF and check that the SEF URLs stored there all contain the .html extension. Also check that they don't have any aliases without .html extension set and that there are no 301 redirects or .htaccess redirects configured that would cause URLs without .html extension to work.
