TOPIC: Issue with JFusion/PHPBB3

Issue with JFusion/PHPBB3 12 years, 5 months ago #30821

Hello,

I recently purchased the JoomSEF component and I am trying to configure it in my development environment. Specifically I want to use to do custom redirects for our K2 content. I can get that working but my PHPBB3 forums will not load forums and threads. I believe I have JoomSEF configured properly (but I'm not sure); I've been able to match up the URLs, but forum and thread pages beyond the board index will not load (I keep getting a blank white page). Any help you could provide would be most welcome.

ORder ID = 24900
I have read the FAQ.
I have searched the JoomSEF forum for answer but I haven't found one.
Joomla Version = 1.5.25
JoomSEF version = 3.9.6
K2 Version = 2.4.1
JFusion Version = 1.5.6 (I believe)

Site: development.labtechsoftware.com
Forum: development.labtechsoftware.com/home/forums.html

We think the blank page error is because of this:

PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined method JDocumentRAW::addCustomTag() in /home/user/public_html/components/com_jfusion/view/frameless/tmpl/default.php on line 171, referer: _development.labtechsoftware.com/home/forums.html

Thank you,

Hello,

Yes, the blank page usually means some PHP error.
It seems that the error happens because the raw output format is being used in Joomla (which makes sense, that way the forum is not displayed inside Joomla template), but JFusion view tries to use a function that's not supported in the raw format.

Does it work with SEF disabled? What do the URLs in forum look like without SEF? Are they the same?

Hi, Dajo,

Yes, if I disable JoomSEF, then the forums come back. Here is a sampling of our forum URLs for our production site:

support.labtechsoftware.com/home/forums.html
support.labtechsoftware.com/home/forums/viewforum.php?f=4
support.labtechsoftware.com/home/forums/....php?f=4&t=17303

If you were asking if the forums work with all SEF disabled, even the Joomla, that I don't know. If you want me to find out, just tell me and I will experiment on our development site.

Thank you,
MMiller

Hi,
I've tested the issue and it seems that the following should help: go to JoomSEF's Configuration, on the Basic tab make sure that the Professional mode is enabled, then go to Advanced tab and disable the "Prevent non-SEF variables from overwriting the parsed ones" option.
After that the phpBB forum started working for me.

Hey, that worked!

Thank you very much! I will try to copy the settings over to my live site today or tomorrow.

Thanks again,
