TOPIC: Double path in the URL

Double path in the URL 11 years, 7 months ago #38316

Hello,

I've just installed Artio JoomSEF on my brand new 2.5 joomla website and I'm facing a strange problem I can't fix.
(I previsously ran JoomSEF 3 on my 1.5 joomla website)
the URL then was pretty simple www.mydomain.com/subcategory/article_title

Now with the new installation I get the following structure :
www.mydomain.com/subcategory/category/subcategory/article_title

How can I get back to the settings I got with joomla 1.5 and enabling then a solid url constancy ?

Thanks for your precious help

Hi,

Open the JoomSEF -> Manage Extensions -> Content page and on the Common tab disable the "Add menu title to URL" option.

Hello,
I was facing the same problem. Using your suggestion it solved the issue almost completely. I still get one double url,
mainly for the Contact on the Top menu.

This URL only is shown as:

mysite.com/contact/contact

Any ideas?

Hi,

If the URL links to a specific contact, its structure is probably created as domain.com/category/contact-name. In this case you should also hide the category part - open the JoomSEF -> Manage Extensions -> Contacts page and on the Extension tab set "Add categories to URL" option to "No".

I have both Add Menu Title to URL and Add categories to URL set to no and successfully save the settings, but my urls still look like:

domain.com/menu-title/category-title/article-name

Since my menu titles and categorytitles are identical, I need to get rid of one of them to avoid repetition.

I cleared the browsers cache and tried on both chrome and firefox, but still get the menu titles and category titles in my urls. Please help.
