Ok so I have a current SEF url in place, which is the one above by when I try to change this to something else I can see the change via the backend but, this change does not translate to the front end on the website.

I still see the old url in the web site itself not the new changed SEF url.

Does that make sense ?

You probably just need to clear the cache in Joomla and JoomSEF.

thanks I have cleared the site cache but not the sef cache...that worked... :-)
