TOPIC: Quickfinder Search Tool Shows up on Product Pages

Quickfinder Search Tool Shows up on Product Pages 12 years ago #33988

As you can see there is a quick search tool that shows up at the bottom of the page of a product. The quick search tool and the other nav tool that sometimes shows up are both natively on the home page. I've tried to get the menu item ID in Joomla's Menu Manager and set it to Ignore Itemids field on the Common tab of JoomSEF's as another user suggested, but no luck.

URL FOR REFERENCE OF ISSUE: www.buyfacebooklike.biz/lovely4bags/home/cavalinho-111-85-bag-4

HERE IS WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE:

www.lovely4bags.com/index.php?page=shop....uemart&Itemid=11

This is obviously on that .biz test site for now..the live deployment is at www.lovely4bags.com we're running Joomla! 1.5 and VM 1 with JoomSEF 3 with the VM extention.

Hi,

The problem is most likely caused by the wrong Itemid being stored for the SEF URL in JoomSEF (as also indicated by the "home" part in the URL). Try enabling the URL Source Tracing in JoomSEF's Configuration on the Advanced tab and delete the URL. When it's created again its source information will be stored, so you can check what page caused such URL to be created.

Unfortunately, VirtueMart doesn't handle Itemids very well, so usually it requires either a change in website's menu structure or needs to be solved by a custom modification in VirtueMart's or our VirtueMart JoomSEF extension's code.
