I have installed joomsef free onto a new website, but for some reason, Joomla SEF URLs are being created as well as Joomsef URLs. For example, a page gets a sef URL, but then does not show in the urls created by Joomsef. The problem is that those URL's seem to take preference over the Joomsef URL's, even if I custom create a new sef URL in Joomsef.
What happens is the url is redirected some how to the url created by Joomla.
How can I force Joomla to stop creating sef URL's, and only to use sef URL's made in and by Joomsef?
In the configuration of Joomsef I have 'Redirect Joomla SEO to JoomSEF' set to 'yes', and also with 'Parse Joomla SEO links'.
Joomsef is enabled, and 'Disable creation of new SEF URLs?' is set to 'no'.
I would like the client to upgrade to the paid version, but they are unlikely to do so if I cannot get it working properly on the free one.
Joomsef 3.9.9
Joomla 1.5.26
I am also having major cacheing issues, but I dont know if this is related....I keep on having to turn off sef urls altogether so that I can see pages as they should be, even if I clear the cache.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there,
I have a site that is showing many loads of 404 errors in the log, most of them are cache files eg: cache/com_content/00266e4ddcd232b898c0ea2a123f642a.php
There are literally hundreds of these listings in the 404 log...the mysql stats are also through the roof, and I am hoping that fixing the problem here could reduce the queries to the db.
Thanks
- Francois

Hi David,
I dont see any errors in the server log. I have turned on error reporting to maximum in the Joomla config, but dont see any errors output onto the page in the front end.
UPDATE
The JoomSEF URL car-rental-rates-group-j.htm is a customised URL. Originally JoomSEF creates a URL called vehicle-group-j.html.
I have tested deleting my custom URL (car-rental-rates-group-j.htm), cleaning the cache, then reloading the page on the front end. The dynamically created URL that JoomSEF creates is again back to 'vehicle-group-j.html'. When I click this URL it works perfectly!
I have now again edited the URL so that it is changed it back to 'car-rental-rates-group-j.htm', and saved it. When I clean the cache, and reload the page in the front end, the problem is back!
Any suggestions?
It seems to be a problem with me customising the URL.

Hi David,
The real URL is: index.php?option=com_wrapper&lang=en&view=wrapper&Itemid=71
If I have JoomSEF enabled, I have the problem, when I disable JoomSEF in its config and try the above URL it works perfectly

The wrapper links I have in the menu on a site are no longer working. What happens now is that they do open the correct pages, but NOT as a wrapper. The pages being opened are hosted on the same server, and are normal php files, but now they no longer load within the 'site'
Any suggestions?
thanks

UPDATE
It seems that one wrapper link in the menu IS working (for me anyway). The other links that are wrappers are not displaying correctly.
An example of a URL that does not display properly is www.cabs.co.za/car-rental-rates-group-j.htm
An example of a URL that seems to work properly for me still is www.cabs.co.za/car-rental-rates.html
If you view the source of one of the URLs that are not working properly in the wrapper format, I see some code and the following message: "This option will not work correctly. Unfortunately, your browser does not support inline frames."
I have not changed the link information in the menu, so these are links that were working perfectly before, and now do not. I have edited the mod_wrapper extension for JoomSEF, changing handling, but nothing changes no matter which option I choose.
The site is running on JoomSEF 3.7.5 Paid

I have just installed joomSEF, and the urls that are being made dont have a .html suffix. Is it possible to turn this on automatically so that the generated urls have it by default?
If so, how do I do this?
I am using Joomla 1.5 with the latest version of JoomSEF paid
