I understand, but even the component in joomla admin part is not working properly. On the JoomSEF configuration page the html is not complete and I see un ugly page with only the left side of the configutation form. That's why I thought the files are decompressed but with some errors, maybe in the JoomSEF configutation component.
I checked the .htaccess file, tried to comment the line with Options +FollowSymLinks.
My Joomla installation is almost-virgin, with only joomfish component.
And I think that even if I did something wrong, the admin-side part of JoomSEF would be working well...

I tried to download the free JoomSEF but the archive I've downloaded seems broken.
My mac cannon decompress it. I tried with others archive utilities but others force quit...

When I try to install the component directly by URL-installing in joomla, it installs, shows the welcome document and is present in the admin menu, but I it simply doesn't work.
I think my Apache server decompresses it as far as it can, but not all files can be decompressed.

If you could fix this problem it would be great.
