Hi,

Thanks for getting back. We were not able to record the errors, per se, but we can describe what takes place on our site. When we turn JoomSEF on the it starts to slow down the whole website quickly. Wait times become minutes as you start to navigate the site and finally is almost impossible to get on. In some instances a JoomSEF error occurs that mentions it could not create url and we also noticed that one url became the base and all other urls were now being appended to this base url which points to an article that is no longer published. We purged and cleared and re-indexed and it had no effect that site became impossible to get on let alone navigate. As soon as we turned off JoomSEF and went back to Joomla's Sef, that site was back and much quicker than ever before.

As for the .htaccess file I can send you a copy but it is the same one we used with all versions of JoomSEF prior to 3.60.

I hope that helps. Thank you for your support.

We found our site totally broken with 3.60 and now with 3.61 it is even worse. Nothing works and we are guessing it has to do with the sitemap now included. It cannot be turned off from what we can tell. We looked for a way to disable just the sitemap but had no luck. We have tested this new version extensively and in the end the only way to get the site back was to turn off JoomSEF and purge all urls.

We also noticed that the new versions have slowed the site down to a crawl and we started getting JoomSEF errors, 404 errors and then 500 errors.

Once we turned off JoomSEF 3.61 and using the standard Joomla SEF the site works flawlessly with no issues and even works perfect with sectionex, which is one extension we could never get working with JoomSEF.

Hello,

to remove the blog.html, you need to go to Content extension setitngs and check the settings Default layout and Add layout to URL.

Hi, Still not working for us. The new upgraded sectionex extension still doesn't work. We did everything as you suggested, and it does not work. We get a blank page for any of the sectionex areas of our website. Once we turn sef off for the sectionex extension then it works fine but without any sef urls for sectionex.

As for the blog.html, yes we already did all of that. However, we want to turn off the blog.html and have the sectionex extension working at the same time. So far we cannot get the sectionex working at all with JoomSEF.

Thanks

Hello,

thanks to effort and cooperation of SectionEx authors, new updated version of the extension is now also available in JoomSEF Online Update system for free download/update.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the update and fast work!

Can you provide the settings for this extension so that it will also remove the blog.html from the url's that are in blog mode and also have sectionex working completely.

By this I mean what would the settings need to be in the SEF and in the extension itself to get both of theml working again. We have tried many things and still not working for us.

Thanks!

If we want to build JoomSef in with client sites, can we purchase a license on their behalf and manage it for them? Do we need to create another user account on here to do this or can it all be managed from one user account?

Thanks

Hello,

ad 1) this can be configured by setting of Add layout to URL option and
Default layout
in configuration for Content extension in JoomSEF.

Thank you. However, if I do this then all the blogs will have a blog.html url. We changed that setting from default to blog to get rid of that issue.

ad 2) could you please be more specific on what errors you have and what are your versions?

Let me try: When we installed the sectionex extension we downloaded from here, the sectionex urls did not work. It would display an empty page. We turned off sef in the extension and everything was back to normal except all of the sectionex areas of the site are not sef'ed obviously. I hope that helps explain it better.

Thanks

Forgot to mention: We are using the latest version of Joomla 1.5.15, Latest version of JoomSef 3.5.4 and the latest version of the sectionex extension from this site.

1. Is there anyway to stop JoomSEF from appending blog.html to every blog we create in joomla? It is very annoying. FIXED it!

2. SectionEx does not work. We have tried every fix and suggestion here in the forums. Has anyone got it to work properly? We now have had to turn off sef handling for this extension and now the sections wont show at all anymore. We purged the SEF url's, cleared the cache, etc. Now sectionex is totally dead. Funny thing is, it used to work great until we upgraded to the paid version of JoomSEF. Ever since upgrading sectionex does not work properly anymore. Strange! Still broken.

Any help available here for paying users on these issues?

Thanks

Since upgrading the paid version yesterday we now get a 500 errors on the areas of the site that uses SectionEx. The free SectionEx extension for JoomSef was working fine until we upgraded yesterday.

We now know that once we cleared the sef urls and cache, is when it started.

What would be the answer or solution?

Thanks.

We found it! Sorry to waste the forum webspace! :)

We just paid for JoomSEF and now find the artio footer link on every page. There is no option to display the link or turn it off. We assumed once we upgraded from the free version and paid this would be removed. Not the case.

Also now we get Page not Found errors all over the site which we did not ever have before with JoomSEF.

We cannot find how to remove the artio footer link other than reinstall etc, and even then we are not sure that will work.

We paid because we feel this extension was worth it, now we are wondering...

This is urgent becaue it is a LIVE site.

Can someone help quickly please?

Thanks
