I couldn't change the permissions via my FTPclient but I checked out the webinterface of my hoster and there was a possibilty to change it. Now it works like it should. so I have to say thank you for your patience.

well, it seems I can't change the permissions, so I think it's maybe easier to change the code of the artio extensions, so the sitemap.xml will have another path to save.

Where should I need to look in the code to change that?

i did follow your steps but it doesn't work as far as I can see. The error message is still there. I assume I can't change the CHMOD attributes - if I change them and check it after, they're again in default mode. I have my joomla installation in root/joomla, so I should create a xml file in my joomla folder, right?

I use JoomSEF and it works so far very well - I also bought the RD Auto JoomSEF extension and that works also very well!

But I have one problem that should be solved: I cant generate the XML for my sitemap. I checked all my items that I want to have indexed. When I hit the "generate XML" button, I receive: "Error Generating XML: Cannot create the specified XML file."

I don't use any other sitemap generator.

I use the newest version of Artio JoomSEF.
