How to optimize Magento speed and improve performance?
Based on our experience, these are some tips to ensure faster Magento e-store response times:
- use hosting where APC or other code caching module is installed
- make sure to allocate enough memory for MySQL (my.cnf)
- map /var directory to shared memory, do not use file-based storage
- provide JS and CSS files compressed
- use gzip compression for all text-based files
- fine-tune Web server configuration (httpd.conf)
- separate the static content (images, styles, scripts) on a separate Web server
Slow Magento due to unsuitable Magento hosting
Some of the common problems can be resolved by placing Magento sites on suitable hosting. Lot of mass hosting services, priced about 12 Euro per month, are unable to provide enough system resources for Magento.

University Hospital Ostrava
ARTIO designed and created new website for University Hospital Ostrava. The project was implemented in Joomla! CMS. The system communicates with hospital information system and some of the data are being downloaded automatically. The website contains all hospital departments including personnel, hospital Flash map, information for patients and visitors, etc.

Ostrava, 24.1.2010 - The latest version of popular Joomla SEO component ARTIO JoomSEF 3.5.4, producing SEF URLs, has been released for download or upgrade. This version addresses some of the known bugs and introduces a few minor improvements. Also VirtueMart SEF extension has been updated plus several new extensions for JoomSEF 3.x were introduced recently.
Toivon seinä to NCP
Jämsä 18.1.2010 - ARTIO has written an application for the National Coalition Party called "Toivon Seinä", where anyone can express their support and reasons for endorsing the party.
The application integrates Flash technology and the best features of the Joomla CMS so that the management is done in Joomla, and the results are displayed in the Flash application.
Toivon Seinä can be seen in action at the front page of the National Coalition Party website, www.kokoomus.fi.
