This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks I've had this same problem - EVERY time I upgrade from your server, I end up with your FRIVOLOUS LINKS all over my high value site, when I've PAID FOR YOUR PRODUCT.

I DEMAND YOU FIX THIS RIGHT NOW!

I'm going to go to the joomla extensions directory and make sure I explain that your product does this with the paid version so nobody else keeps getting screwed the way I have... I don't have the time to EVERY TIME I click the upgrade button in the backend of my site have to re-install from some other copy you send me.

I expect to be contacted IMMEDIATELY about how you're going to fix this problem, and how you plan on compensating me for the time and effort I have to put into fixing this direct violation of the terms of service of your own product that you've tricked me into paying for

It's very clear when I go to your downloads area in my account and try to re-download the product that I've paid for TWICE because of this issue and it says:

Function Not Registered. downloadRequest?download_id=c8e6db063d55d86a267b3817dcf0c718 is not a valid VirtueMart function.

It's YOUR problem. FIX IT! Why does it take so long to get you to handle problems like this? I emailed you LAST NIGHT about this and still haven't received any response! It seems that you're just trying to maximize the time that you have these unearned links from my PR6 website for your own benefit.

It's a shame that such an unethical company is behind such an important product - I wish I could turn the clock back 4 years and never have used your product in the first place so I wouldn't be screwed on the 20,000 or so url's I have indexed that are created by your product... If it wouldn't completely destroy my rankings and therefore my business, I'd use something else that doesn't have SPAM LINKS EMBEDDED IN THEIR PAID VERSION DESPITE GUARANTEEING THE OPPOSITE IN THEIR TERMS OF SERVICE FOR PURCHASE!

I DEMAND YOU PROVIDE ME WITH A VERSION OF YOUR SOFTWARE WITHOUT THESE FRIVOLOUS LINKS THAT WORKS AND DOESN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM EVERY TIME I CLICK UPGRADE IMMEDIATELY! THAT'S WHAT I PAID FOR! AND I NEED AN EXPLANATION ABOUT HOW THIS IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN

I explained in my previous post what it says when I go in account maintenance and try to re-download the product from the list of products I purchased. Why do you think I put that in the post? I sent you the error message it gives in my previous post(s)

regarding the other url you gave me, the order # is 00003839 and the website is www.treatment-centers.net

and for the other copy I paid for with order # 00002445 the url is www.aboutdrugrehab.com

Just out of curiosity, how was I supposed to know to look for that page? There's nothing in the component when you go to the upgrade page in the backend that tells you that you have to do anything other than click upgrade - no warning that if you paid before some point you're going to have Spam links in your paid version all over your website! I never received any email warning me when you release each new version. Why would you expect anyone to look for that when they've paid for a product that's guaranteed to not have frivolous links in it? There was nothing when i bought the component that said I have to come and search your site every time there's an upgrade just in case you change anything!

I should add, that I just went through this with the upgrade from 3.whatever to 3.4 a couple weeks ago, so my order number and download ID and the url treatment-centers.net should already be related - that was supposed to be done and fixed the last time I had this problem with you!

I just reinstalled the component from using my download ID in your downloads area manually, because as I explained, your account maintenance area gives an error when I click on the 98 remaining downloads I have for the purchase. Thankfully, that removed the Frivolous unethical links. This is the 3rd time I've upgraded from the backend of my site and had to waste the time doing this whole process manually in the last 1-2 months. Since this has happened now the last 3 times I upgraded from your server, how do you make it NEVER happen again? Your response in this forum thread to the previous person says that the problem was upgrading from a bad version, but obviously that's not why it's happening to me, because each time I'm starting with a brand new copy from your downloads area. I need this to stop happening. What's wrong with upgrading from the backend? I need you to just send me each new version when it comes out so that I don't keep having these links showing up on my PAID version, and since it's too late for me to move to some other component, I'll upgrade manually every time.

We will check the links in the download area, still the manual download works fine.
Nothing is bugless, not even the VirtueMart 1.1.4 which we use.

We are not going to send you new version when it is out, you can simply download it yourself.
I do not know what was the problem in your case, however I have just now tested the upgrade process and it works fine for me - got the paid version.

We have however reacted to this kind of problems we cannot prevent 100%. Now, there is a message in Upgrade area of JoomSEF that will warn you in case you have currently paid version installed and something is not right so you would get free from upgrade server.
