here is a tricky question as I ran into this issue with AceSEF:
Does joomsef support the native multilingual capabilities of Joomla 2.5 using the language switch and without any 3rd party extensions such as falang or joomfish?
- Assuming that I have already managed my menus according to the languages implemented within my website and related subsequent items/articles and modules, after installing Joomsef and disabling the language filter, do I have to re-activate the default joomla home and menu?
In that case, does this mean I have to remove the default home within my French and English main menus?

JoomSEF supports the native multilanguage features in Joomla 2.5 without any additional extensions.

In order to work, you need to disable the System - Language Filter plugin in Joomla and then make sure to enable the JoomSEF's Language management in JoomSEF's Configuration on the Language tab. JoomSEF then emulates the Language Filter on its own, so you don't need to activate the default Joomla menus.
