TOPIC: problem with joomfish menu localization

problem with joomfish menu localization 15 years, 3 months ago #7520

Hello,

I have Joomla 1.5.12, JoomFish 2.0.3 and ArtioSEF 3.3.2. I use two languages in my joomla installation, using also the joomfish menu localization patch. Everything runs smoothly, but when I enable the SEF functionality I have to disable the jfrouter in order the translation to work normally. When I do this, I loose the language functionality of my "Home" menu link -- which means that either you are switched to language A or to language B, the 'Home' link always drives you to the default (A) language homepage. If I disable ArtioSEF and enable jfrouter, the Home link works as expected (switching to the correct language homepage), but I have no SEF of course.

Any solution to this weird problem please?

You can ensure correct functionality of the home link by making sure it contains correct language variable... lang=XX.
If you are using e.g. just '/" for your homepage, that may not work correctly.

I have exactly the same problem at my site. I checked my SEF URLs and there is no URL with just "/". The lowest levels are "/en" and "/nl".

Should be ok right? But nevertheless, the Home link still switches to "/" with always the same language.

I didn't understand the proposed solution of changing the language variable. How can I do that? When you mean changing the Content Language under Parameters (Advanced) in the Article editor: I have already done that (and in Joomfish also).

Not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

Thanks very much. This is the only thing still bugging me. Everything else seems to work just fine!

Apparently this is neither a JoomSEF nor a Joomfish problem. The problem appears to be in the mod_mainmenu.

A solution is proposed at www.joomfish.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1568#p7430

This solution seems to work just fine. Haven't tested it thoroughly yet, but first impression is good.
