Hello,
thanks for your feedback.
I think the problem must have been somewhere else - outside JoomSEF and tha tit might have been solved by someone else fixing it. (e.g. fixing DNS records or server configuration).

"Purging in the right way" is kind of non-sense, sorry. :-)

I'm having this same issue. Can you give me some ideas of what I might look for as far as DNS settings and server config that would cause this issue?

Hello,

I am sorry, this is quite complex issue. I am unable to give any specific hints through these forums. You might ask your server administrator to help you debug the issue.

Hi,
same problem when resetting a password from login frontend.
It happen when I do the following steps:

  1. Step 1: click on "forgot password" in the login frontend
  2. Step 2: fulfill the form asking for my mail address and click "submit", then i'm redirected to "insert token" page
  3. Step 3: copy the token that has been sent to my e-mail address
  4. Step 4: fulfill the token form by pasting the token number in the "token" form"
  5. Step 5: 301 ERROR (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS) - the browser return me this error for this page "option=com_user&view=login&return=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5wYWxvbWFyd2V....(and many more numbers and letters)

I made and exact copy of the site and disabled ARTIO JoomSEF.
Tried the same procedure for resetting password on the copy site and everything worked fine (I was finally redirected to user login page)

So I was thinking the problem was related to JoomSEF and not to server's settings.
I tried to do this:

  1. From Joomla's backend go to: Components -> ARTIO JoomSEF -> Manage Extensions ->
  2. Clik on "Users" extension
  3. Set everything to "no"
  4. Set itemID handling to "override"
  5. in "handling" set to "Don't SEF" (perhaps this is the only one you need to set to make everything work, but I didn't made a test cause I'm lazy)
  6. Click on "Save"

I imagine that you can use the same steps for any other component you need and you'll able to solve the problem.

Let me know :)
