You need to delete the already created URLs with /home/ from the database using the Manage SEF URLs page, so they can be recreated with the new configuration. If you are using JoomSEF's cache, also use the Clear cache button in JoomSEF's control panel.

The urls in Virtuemart are really good for seo now.
