I'm using Joomla + JoomFish + Virtuemart 1.1.2 stable + JoomSef 3.5.3 + Virtuemart Ext 2.0.16 (latest version).

In Manage Sef Urls I can see:

it/chi-siamo/pcb-prototypes-and-small-series
that points to
index.php?option=com_virtuemart&category_id=5&lang=it&page=shop.browse&Itemid=17

The destination url works fine.

Two issues:

1. chi-siamo doesn't mean anything, it's the alias of a page, how can I change it?
2. The sef url return a 404, Article #0 not found

Any suggestions?

1) the first part of the URL can be removed by configuring the "menu title add" to NO in the VirtueMart extension settings.

2) are the permissions for the category ok? is it published and visible? and is this only the problem with this specific URL or is it a general problem?

Issue 1 is resolved, thanks for the tip.

The category pages issue is still here. Categories are visible and published, and the problem stand for all categories, i just posted an example.

The direct url index.php?option=com_virtuemart&category_id=5&lang=it&page=shop.browse&Itemid=17 works fine, the SEF one return a 404.

I notice that in the virtuemart ext configuration the variable filtering rules are empty. Can this be the problem?

I do not see a reason why it should not work. Do you have RewriteBase in .htaccess config set correctly?
Doesn't the category path conflict with some "real" directory on your disk? (/it)

the .htaccess is fine, and there are no conflicts with other page urls.

Is there a way to debug and trace the urls?

Hi again,

We paid an extension that doesn't work: category and product pages return a 404. We spent a lot of time trying to debug, with no luck.

In "Manage SEF urls" I can see (for example):
it/prodotti-generali --> index.php?option=com_virtuemart&category_id=3&lang=it&page=shop.browse&Itemid=17

The real url works fine, the sef url doesn't.

Content pages' sef urls works fine.

Can anyone help?
