Sirs,

I have found out that when I have JoomSEF enabled, when I put something in the cart and click on checkout, I get redirected to the home page. When JoomSEF is switched off, it seems to work - it goes to the user login page.

I did see another post about this but there did not appear to be a solution.

How do I get round this??

Sorry, but I don't appear to have received any responce. This problem is not solved and it is holding up the launch of a new website.

Do you have any other suggestions or does your component just not work?

sorry, but I have no other idea. Just - if you are using https, make sure your secure URL setting in VirtueMart is correct.
Try to identify, where does the form you click when pressing "checkout" points to -- that is its target URL. Is that SEO or not (it should not be).

Also, please, make sure you have latest version of everything and post those here.

For some reason, after I posted the last message, it started working ok. So it now no longer redirects to the home page!
