Glad to hear you managed to get the upgrade working :) Hope there won't be any problems - but having a backup before upgrading is always a good idea.
Yes, I'm trying to check the forum regularly now.
The thing with cURL is that it's not a standard Apache library and many servers don't have it installed, so we're using the wrappers approach. We'll probably try to implement both methods in future version so the upgrader will be more flexible.
