What is a custom URL according to JoomSEF? I need what the quoted text states ... I have an existing site that I am porting to Joomla and need full url aliasing. Is JoomSEF wrong for me?

I'm sorry but our documentation is not completely up to date at the moment. Currently you can use the JoomSEF's 301 redirects and .htaccess redirects abilities to redirect the old URLs to new ones, however if your old URLs contain some nonSEF variables (for example page in "some-category/some-article?page=2") it is still needed to handle them using manually created .htaccess rewrite rules.
