I had a working Joomla 1.0.11 website under Unix and installed the JoomSEF component. Uncommented the third party section of the .htaccess file and enabled SEF on both Joomla and the component.

I thne went to test it and found that no pages were served. The log files show "malformed header from script. Bad header=HTTP 1.0 301 Moved Permanently: /home/<snipped username>/public_html/index.php" messages.

I've asked my hoster for support but they do not feel able to help with "an obscure component"!

I know if I disable the SEF or comment the lines it works as if the component is not installed but I really don't know what can be wrong so any help appreciated.
