May sound a little strange but i need to change the Home link in the mainmenu
I got to do this because i need to put a flash intro on a client's website.
So basically i need to have an index.html that calls the swf file. at the end of the intro it goes to the index.php, leading into joomla.
As the home item on the main menu is stripped to www.yoursite.com/ and not to www.yoursite.com/index.php it would lead back to the intro instead of the home page

Is there a way to customize the home link in the mainmenu so that it link to "www.yoursite.com/index.php"?

Unfortunately, that would require a modification in Joomla's code for mod_mainmenu. I can point you to file /modules/mod_mainmenu/helper.php and function JMenuTree::_getItemData().
