But what do I fill in if I want to direct my pages to the homepage? I noticed that a simple / does not works.

hmm, if just / does not work for you - although I think it should in case your site is in domain root or you have base href specified - just use the full site name, i.e. www.some-domain.com.

Well unfortunally both options does not work for my website.

Could you please specify "does not work"?
What happens?

I can test this on another site I have on another server but for this I first need to upgrade to 3.3.0 but the problem here is that I can not pass the upgrade because I get an error when upgrading (see this post)
