I would have all URL prefixed by the language.
For example, "example.org/fr/my-article" instead of "example.org/my-article".

My site has only one language but URL must be strictly identical to the old site (which used the prefix "fr").

Note that JoomFish is not available for Joomla 1.7 (or 1.6).

How to do this?

The ideal solution is not to change the code of Artio JoomSEF but if this is not possible I am ready to do few modifications.
