I am running JoomSEF 4.2.4 with Joomla 1.7.3 and K2 2.5.4. When I add a new K2 item the SEF URL gets generated but when I view the source the canonical URL is not there. But if I go and edit the Title under Manager SEF URLs for the newly created SEF URL then the canonical tag gets added but it is incorrect. It reads - "<link href="/1" rel="canonical" />"

How do I fix the generated canonical URL? I even tried disabling the "Automatic canonical link generation:" under Configuration and Advanced but it still gets added.

Any update on this problem? Looks like it might have something to do with caching. When I disable Joomla caching the canonical tag is not added to the page.

Does JoomSEF 4 work with Joomla caching?

Yes, JoomSEF works with Joomla caching. You can control JoomSEF's cache in its Configuration. Try clearing the cache in JoomSEF (using the Clear Cache button in JoomSEF's Control panel) and in Joomla to make sure that your cached data are up-to-date.
