TOPIC: strange issue with SOBI

strange issue with SOBI 17 years, 8 months ago #1634

Hi,

I am having a challenge with a SOBI sef url. It should work but does not. The old link is
www.eminer.net/index.php?option=com_sobi...amp;sobi2Task=addNew

and that link does end up where I want to be but, I have SEF turned on and I bought your SOBI plugin for Artio. It by the way is working very well on the directory sef urls.

Now this is the SEF url that should work, like the rest, but does not. I should say I believe I had this problem before installing your paid plugin.

www.eminer.net/directory-listings/add-entry.html

Both of the above urls were taken from the Artio admin area. The rest all look very similar but they work.

Would you have any ideas for me?

I am using 1.40 beta2 with your new SOBI paid plugin, which is working well on the directory. I am using Joomla 1.0.12 with recommended security setting set.

Thank you

Hi,

I am having the same issue with my directory, it won't work with the paid for extension for SOBI2.
Sent the team a support ticket yesterday and have had no reply, not even an acknowledgement.
Does anybody know if the team respond to quieres or do they just take your money and run?

Is anybody else having the same problem?

Does anybody know a fix?

I have tried a number of different combinations of settings within config and it won't work.

I now know what the problem is....for some reason when a menu link is created i.e Directory. Artio uses that name within the menu link for the directory. If you customize the link and take out the directory name, it will work fine.

I then went on to test further and discovered that this plugin will only work when the menu link is called SOBI2. This is a really bad oversight and needs to be fixed immediately. This is a commercial plugin...paying customers first please.

Thanks Martyn Re:strange issue with SOBI 17 years, 8 months ago #1641

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for the tip! I changed the link to the SOBI submit
form to sobi and it worked. I felt I had to mess around a
bit more so I tried the word 'submit'. That would not work
and then it would not let me change it, so I deleted
that one and tried again, I guess I would have to purge
the sef urls, it just kept saying it was in the database
already (sobi).

So I made another one and called it 'sobi2'/add-entry.html
and it is fine. Weird how all the other links called directory-listings/
work fine but not that one.

Thanks for help!

Regards

Yep, there seems to be a major glich with this plugin, I am really surprised that they don't do anything about it. Poor.

I think I am going to comment on this on Joomlas forum. Other people shoul dknow that it doesn' twork properly.

Hi,
Try to delete the sef_ext.php file in the /components/com_sobi2/ directories (save it before !)<br><br>Post edited by: casamape, at: 2007/03/21 13:50
