I installed JoomSEF and it looks fine, but clicking on any SEF URL will lead me to the frontpage of the site... I spent houres now working this out, but I don't manage to solve the problem.

wat staat er bij je configuratie van ARTIO ingevuld onder "404 Page"?

Er staat bij mij in de configuratie:

404 Page: (Default 404 Page)

Waarna rechts staat in de WYSIWYG van de Default Page:
404: Not Found
Sorry, but the content you requested could not be found

Dit zou toch goed moeten zijn? Hoewel, ook als ik een pagina invoer die niet bestaat, word ik redirected naar de homepage...

Kun je hier wat mee?

(in english: my 404 setting in configuration is (Default 404 Page). But even when I type an adress which does not exist, I'll be redirected to the frontpage.)

The problem seems to be that the initial 'File suffix' was '.html'
I changed it to '/' and now it seems to work perfectly.

Unless I comment on this again, I think it's solved!

I have two sites that this is happening on, and two that it isn't. I've been trying to track down exactly what's causing it, but haven't had much luck.

Your method sort of fixes the problem. If you change the "File Suffix" from '.html' to '/' in the configuration panel, links like "site.com/news/" will work. However, links generated with two "directories", such as "site.com/news/article/" will give you a 404 error.

This is a very odd bug. On the two sites it's happened on to me, they both worked fine at first. Then a few days later on one, and a week or so later on the other, they both started redirecting to the front page without any changes having been made to the site. Hopefully the other two that I have working won't eventually have problems with this.

Indeed, some error's occur with the two 'directories'. I kind of sorted that with manual delete the first '/' in the 'create/edit redirects-page' of Artio...

It works, but it's frustrating and a bit of a double-work solution....

It would be nice when a 'real' solution came for this problem! :)
