TOPIC: MTree problem

MTree problem 17 years, 3 months ago #2899

Hi,

I just installed JoomSEF and I have a problem with the search links.

All the links to a search are like : \"directory/search.html\", \"directory/search-1.html\",...

Those links are working fine however I think that this could be improved and work similar to OpenSef did when I had it installed!

OpenSEF search links are like \"directory/search/1/search_word/\", where search_word is the word I'm searching for, that's say that I'm searching for the word computer, than the link sould show something like \"directory/search/1/computer/\".

It would be even nicer if it could be improved and show something like \"directory/search/computer.html\"

Can this be done?

Best regards,

Douglas

Hi,

in order not to save every search link to database, you should either turn adding non-SEF variables to URLs, or skip the search component at all. You won't have nice links for search, but I think it's better then having every search link stored in database as most of them are used only once.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't notice your problem is related to MTree, my answer assumed the com_search component. We'll implement some handling for search links to MTree extension.

I'm sorry if I didn't make that very clear!

Also, when you fix that, you could also change the SEF URL for:
mtree_directory/viewowner.html to mtree_directory/viewowner/joomla_user_name.html

mtree_directory/viewusersreview.html to mtree_directory/viewusersreview/joomla_user_name.html

mtree_directory/viewusersfav.html to mtree_directory/viewusersfav/joomla_user_name.html

I was looking into the com_mtree.php JoomSEF's file and it's logic is quite different from OpenSEF and AdvanceSEF. Is there a easy way to translate/change the SEF URL? I mean just like OpenSEF and AdvanceSEF lets me change the task alias from viewowner to owner, or in my case from viewowner to proprietario. Could that be done using JoomSEF?

One more thing: Once you implement this handling for search MTree, can you reply to this post? or, is there a JoomSEF newsletter to sign up?
