We have an installation of Joomla 1.5.3 on IIS6 using Helicon's ISAPI filter 3.0 (licensed) with JRE Accellerator 3.0 installed.

Until today, we were using JoomSEF 3.0.2 and we upgraded to 3.1.1. Suddenly, the SEF redirect stopped working. That is, the correct URLs are created, as per the JoomSEF rules, but when invoked in the browser, always the first page is displayed. The site is of the form www.company.com/site/ . We checked router.php and is the default Joomla one. Also checked .htaccess, which reads:

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php [F,L]

Any ideas why no other pages are displayed, irrespective of URLs? We had to turn SEF on temporarily, with destructive effects on the URLs.

Re:JoomSEF 3.1.1 does not route URLs 16 years, 3 months ago #4685

Greetings,

I have a joomla 1.015 install using Helicon 3 in IIS6 and I too noticed that with standard Joomla SEF enabled, all links directed to the homepage. I added the following line of code to the bottom of my config file and now the links are all working.

if (isset($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REWRITE_URL']))

{
$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] = $_SERVER['HTTP_X_REWRITE_URL'];
}

Next up for me is to install a 3rd party SEF component so that my URLs use titles and words instead of /content/view/56/99/. I'm hesitant. Would you let me know if you get this working?

Thanks much!

Here is an update. I just installed ARTIO JoomSEF v2.3.0 on my Joomla 1.015 site and it works flawlessly.

So with the above code added to my configuration file, ARTIO JoomSEF v2.3.0 and Helicon 3.0 installed on my IIS6 server, I am in business. Hope this helps others.

It's work, but in my case, every time i made a modifications to my website configuration, have to add above code again in configuration.php

Re:JoomSEF 3.1.1 does not route URLs 16 years, 3 months ago #4744

I recall your issue happening to me as well. Whenever I adjusted the configuration from the backend of Joomla, the whole config file was rewritten, thus eliminating any custom code we had written.

I started changing my configuration file through FTP instead and this seemed to eliminate the problem.

In truth, I know nothing about Windows servers as I only inherited the one I reference in this post. I'm afraid I can't offer much in the way of advanced advice. I can tell you this. We went round and around with this host about permission settings and they seemed to have a very difficult time getting all the server permissions squared away for Joomla. Files wouldn't talk to each other, etc. In the end, it seemed that all my problems were related to permissions.

I hope your issue is resolved soon. I wish I could help more.
