Ok, my SEF urls are really messed up. It seems to be making duplicate sections of the URL, but the strangest thing is it is not even consistant with which part it duplicates. Some URL's are like this one:

www.cleanmywater.com/54k-pure-tech-3000-...tainless-bypass.html

and some are like this one:

www.cleanmywater.com/sulfur-filters/sulf...tainless-bypass.html

and others will duplicate the second section. So sometimes it doubles the first section, sometimes the second, then otehr times the third. It's REALLY annoying!LOL Is there anyway to stop it fromdoing the duplication all together? I know I can go into edit SEF URL's and strip off the first part to remove the duplicate, but there are over 12 thousand URL's, so that would be a bit of a pain. Any ideas on how to fix this, or even what is wrong?

Ok, I figured out a little bit more about the cause of the problem. It seems that the first part of the URL is created by the menu item, then the rest of the url is the pathway. So it depends on which submenu item I click on as to what gets duplicated. Example:

There's a menu item that is Sulfur Filters > Pure Tech Systems > Pure Tech 2550 heavy sulfur multibed System so if I click on the first part of the menu item, and follow the links on the page to get to the item, I end up with:

sulfur-filters/sulfur-filters/pure-tech-systems/pure-tech-2550-heavy- sulfur-multibed-system/pure-tech-2550-1-cubic-foot-iron-filter-system-fleck-5600-timed-3-4-inch- stainless-bypass.html

If I mouse over Sulfur Filters, and then click on the Pure Tech Systems menu item that pops out and follow the links on the page to get to the item, the URL ends up being:

pure-tech-systems/sulfur-filters/pure-tech-systems/pure-tech-2550-heavy- sulfur-multibed-system/pure-tech-2550-1-cubic-foot-iron-filter-system-fleck-5600-timed-3-4-inch- stainless-bypass.html

So basically the SEF URL is being created as the domain, then the menu item name, then the pathway to that item. So is there anyway to remove it including the menu item name in the URL? Because that will always be a duplicate since that will always be in the pathway somewhere.

Ok, like I said before, it seems that my problem is that the SEF URL's use the menu item name as the first part of the url. Does anyone know where in the code it is that makes it use the menu item name as part of the url? I assume if I could remove that part, then my problem would be fixed. So anyone out there that understands code more than I, could you please point me in the right direction to finding the code that tells it to use a menu item name as the first part of the URL?

I'm not sure if this is a native bug in Joomla or something with the ArtioSEF plugin, but this fix worked for me!
