I was wondering if anyone created a script to create user profile urls like:

www.somesite.com/username/index.php

on inital registration to a joomla site? Right now I getting a cluster of User1.. User2.. User3.. type urls in the URL Manager.. and i'm having to manual input these urls in using the awaiting admin approval system. Even when i create a somesite.com/username url the system still cache' the original.

My question might not be understandable.. If you dont know what i'm talking about please feel free to ask me to give you a better insight on this post.

I'm just about to give Artio JoomSEF a try, so don't even know if the following is compatible with it, but just in case ... if you use Community Builder there's an add-on called something like 'profile url' which allows members to edit a link similar to what you are requesting to their profiles.

I guess you might at least be able to use some of the code.

The above uses a redirect in the .htaccess file which may or may not work with AJ ... I'm about to find out.
