As said on subject documents appear on frontend but download link is not available. Can verify the behavior visiting

Check the permisson settings in configuration, if unlogged users are allowed to download documents.
Also check that "JoomDOC Standard Buttons" plugin is enabled and that you have configured buttons to show.

There should be no bug related to this, as as you can se on this web which uses the latest JoomDOC release, it works fine.

The plugin should offer you configuration options to what buttons shall be visible and which not. If you do not see, then it might be source of the problem. Maybe you could try to reinstall the component or upgrade the plugin .xml definition file.

After reinstalling component several times, even uploading .xml definition file the problem still exists, so I'll be forced to go back to docman.

Hi there

I had the exact same issue as you when I migrated a DocMan install today and I think the problem is that the files/folders either didn't install themselves properly or that there is an error in the zip install file for the latest release of DocMan.

The installation ZIP file created a folder called PLUGINS but within the ADMINISTRATOR folder which I don't think is correct as there is normally no such folder in ADMINISTRATOR. I believe that the files within the ADMINISTRATOR/COMPONENTS/COM_JOOMDOC/PLUGINS folder that the installation zip creates should in fact go into a SITEROOT/PLUGINS/JOOMDOC folder which is not properly created.

What I did to fix was to create a new folder in SITEROOT/PLUGINS called JOOMDOC then copied all the files from the ADMINISTRATOR/COMPONENTS/COM_JOOMDOC/PLUGINS folder into there and the buttons appeared! If you can try this then hopefully it will work for you too. It does look like it is an error in the latest ZIP file, or some file within it, giving the wrong location to copy these files to.
