That would be good if it did ignore it completely, but it has re-written the title tag and I do not know how to undo that. The URL is un touched.

VM About Vendor Page ...

I really like the ability in JoomSEF to search by URL and edit the page title meta tag in the backend. However there is a important page which is viewed a lot in my store that I am unable to edit the page title for, and it was given a very odd title from JoomSEF.
When you click the About Vendor link on a product details page from VM you get the shop.infopage pop up window, this is the page I need to edit the title of.
The problem is the first time it was displayed it was clicked on from the "red widgets" category for example. So the page title of the About Vendor page no matter where it is clicked on now is always "Red Widgets" the category name from the first time it was clicked.
I searched in the meta tag manager of JoomSEF for shop.infopage in the non sef url field and sef and it will not locate it, where can I edit this page title and correct the odd title generation from JoomSEF?
The URL of the shop.infopage pop up looks like this if it help
/index2.php?page=shop.infopage&vendor_id=1&output=lite&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=331

Unfortunately that does not work either. When I enable the link list and not the drop down the URLS it generated are just the category name with a number after it example /red-widgets-26 and the page titles remain the same "Red Widgets - All Widgets - Widget Store". As you can see there is no manufacturer values inserted into the URL's or Titles it just creates a lot of spammy looking pages in the sitemap. I have even created manufacturer categories and populated them with content to see if it would change the page titles and it does not.
Having dozens of /red-widget-34 pages will dilute my ranking for my main red widget category page.
In my opinion if JoomSEF and the VM extension cannot support basic shop functions such as filtering by manufacturer properly then I don't think it should be advertised to work with VM at all. Now that I have already committed to the ARTIO SEF structure as we are already live, this cripples my ability to add new basic VM features to the shop without negatively effecting SEO unless we can find a solution to this.
I think that JoomSEF is a great component, there are just some annoyances like this (and another topic I am about to post) with its VM integration that need to be smoothed out. Hopefully there is an upgrade to the VM extension coming soon.

I am having the same problem and I have already upgraded to those latest versions of both the VM ext and the JoomSEF. When you choose a manufacturer from the drop down it will filter the products but the URL will just be the root sites url, very bad for SEO. Should I email you login instructions to the site or a URL to view it?

Hi,
Your sitemap file is deprecated or not created. After you make all the changes, you should hit the Generate XML button.
Error Generating XML: Cannot create the specified XML file.
These are the errors I'm getting when trying to generate sitemap xml.
I have indexed all URLs and saved it then click on Generate XML but nothing happened, I'm still getting the same error message. I have also tried to upload an sitemap.xml file but when I tried to general the xml I only got error "The specified XML file is not writable".
Please help. How am I suppose to solve this problem.
