Hello,
I can't get JoomSEF to handle different domains for different languages very well.
For each domain I have a different domain set in language config. See the following image on how the options are set:
In the language switcher it still just adds de/ or en/ to the current URL and then redirects to the right domain. This is one problem. The other one is that if the SEF-URLs for each language are the same it doesn't even change the language at all.
Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it a known bug? I'm using the default Joomla language feature, not Falang.
Joomla! 2.5.6
JoomSEF 4.2.8

Thanks for the reply! I'm using DJ-Catalog2 v2.3.3 on Joomla 1.7 (and 2.5 in a testing environment, works fine so far). Joomsef is v4.2.3

I really hate how Joomsef handles URLs with DJ catalog. Generally bad URL structures and massive duplicate content because of the cid variable. Could someone build a proper extension for this?
It should be possible to cut down a URL from
products/item/43-dust-exhaust-ind-en/11-industrial-en
to
products/dust-exhaust-ind-en
The cid (in this case 11:industrial-en) isn't necessary anyways and the rest is just URL-garbage.

Custom meta tags are only set in JoomSEF. No articles, menu or global meta tags are set in Joomla.
The default ones appear in the <jdoc:include type="head" /> part.
Meta Description or Keywords are not generated at all right now since I didn't set them in global config or menu items and Joomsef doesn't put anything in there.
Maybe something didn't get installed correctly when I had permission problems. I'm afraid to reinstall because so much has been changed since then. Is there a way to call Joomsef meta tags directly with PHP? That could be a dirty fix.

The Joomla language filter ist already disabled.
I also tried clicking the "Update Meta Tags" button. Nothing changing. Is there any folder or file that needs write-permission for this to work? I had some permission problems before so maybe this could be the problem.

Yes I'm using the Joomla 1.7 Multilanguage plugin.
It's not only on the homepage. Could this be a template problem somehow? I don't recall changing anything though.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I checked all caches. They are cleared and turned off.
I don't think there is any interfering plugin installed. I have DJ-Catalog2, ChronoForms and bo:VideoJS.

Hi,
We added lots of meta tags but it still shows the Joomla defaults. Joomsef Plugin is first in order. Everything else works just fine and seems to be set up properly.
Using Joomla 1.7.3 and JoomSEF 4.2.2
This is the meta tags config:
