The page will display 50 results at a time. But if I search for something which 50 results - it's slow but works. If I search for something which has 400 results or more - it times out. But you only get the pagination. So I don't see why it would make such a difference.
My JoomSEF is an old version 1.3.3 - I am updating it now.
The VM extension is 1.0.1 - where can i update this?
I will let you know what happens with the updated JoomSEF

For now I have put an IF statement in the VM extension so if there's a keyword (someone has searched) then SEF is ignored.
So if you search on the above site, then you will notice all links for that page are non SEF.

Hi, I bought the VM extension a while back, and since I have recently implemented the VM search into the site, It takes a really long time to return queries. I thought it was VM originally and spent ages looking into it. But, it's the SEF - when I disable SEF the search works fine.
If the search results are quite low in numbers then it works - slowly. But if what you searched for returns a lot of results then it times out.
Here is the site Welding Equipment.
Do I get free upgrades because I bought the extension, and would an upgrade fix my problem?
Thanks

No. I haven't heard anything.
The only thing to do is put the new URL in the database yourself. I don't know if we're supposed to pay for this support or, as it's the very basic core component, that someoone will help us out anyway.

When I add new items, they tend to get this displayed on the page.
string(141) \"INSERT INTO #__redirection (oldurl, newurl, Itemid) VALUES ('client-quotes/jacqui-hits.htm', 'index.php?option=com_content&id=216&task=view')\"
I've had it happen with the menu and the newsflash module.
I am using j!1.0.12 and JoomSEF 2.1.0 with following settings:
exclude source :no
use cache : no
All other items set to yes

It's all to do with the ItemID of the menu item that the content is under. On the new version, it can be set to ignore itemID, but i notice even if you don't ignore this it still messes up. It takes the first itemID it comes across. And if the itemID doesn't = the one used in the menu then your pathway will mess up, because the pathway is made from the menu items.

The site I am trying to put it on is an older version of joomla (1.0.8) and the URLs are showing as online-store/2.html
The number just increases, for different URLs.

Awesome, thanks for both of those.
Do you know if you have to be running a certain version of Joomla and VM to able to get the results you get?
Thanks.
