It looks like it might also be a problem when you have a disabled menu item with the same name as a enabled menu item which is linked to non existing component (deinstalled).

After researching the problem, testing serveral settings in Joomsef and even adjusting the setting for cgi on the server, I think I found the problem.

In one of our menus on the site we had a link to an article which was asigned to a category/section.
This article had links to other articles in the same category/section.
There was no direct link on the site to the category.

The category name of that specific category returned in the faulty urls.

After disabling that menu item the problem went away and the site is running for more than 10 ours.

Can this be a bug in Joomsef?

Our site runs with joomsef and caching (not de caching plugin, but the caching enabeld on the global setting).

a few months ago we had the problem index.php appeared in de sef url, purging the cache fixed that problem but it came back after a few hours.
We decided to update our virtuemart to 1.1.5 and the problem went away.

We recently updated to the latets joomsef version and joomsef virtuemart plugin and the problem occurs again.
We changed settings but nothing works.

For now we disabeld the caching and the problem is gone, but the site is slow....

Do you have a suggestion on what we can do?

We solved this problem bij adding "user_info_id" in the field "Custom non-SEF variables" under Common in the Virtuemart joomsef extension.

We are using the latest joomsef en virtuemart extension and have the following problem.

On the product flypage the manufacturer link is not seffed.

Is this by design, or is het a configuration?

We have a problem on check-out.

When ordering a producte we get the following error in the send adres.

No valid database connection You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND state_2_code=''' at line 1 SQL=SELECT * FROM jos_vm_state WHERE country_id= AND state_2_code=''

Alse the Send adres can not be selected, it skips that step.

After purging the SEF urls on joomsef it all works again.

Can you tell me what is going wrong or how we can disable the creation for SEF urls on the checkout process.
