I just installed this plugin and have the 500 error. i've tried...

renaming the htaccess.txt file that is site web folder to .htaccess and still have error 500

commenting out the whole .htaccess file

removing the .htaccess file


I can't even access the backend of my site to uninstall this component which is all I want to do at this point. How do I make this thing just go away...

Hi,

I do not see a reason, why you should be getting 500 after you have removed .htaccess. IMake sure it is really gone. Check web server logs.
