TOPIC: Considering Purchase

Considering Purchase 13 years, 2 months ago #24228

I am considering purchasing VM Invoice primarily just to use for manual entry of phone/e-mail orders where folks don't like using the cart. I took a look at the main VM Invoice page and it looks like it will do what I want but there is no screen shot for this feature.

I need to know a couple of things...

When I create a new order for a phone in customer, is the order added to the regular VM Orders page or is it on a page of its own? I don't want to have to check a different page when pulling orders, etc.

I noticed a thread here that VM Invoice is not updating inventory stock levels. Has this been fixed in the current version?

Why should I use this component for phone orders instead of the one done by Joomla Cache other than it is cheaper?

Thanks for any input you can provide.

Hello,

VM Invoice does not have own table for storing orders. So all orders entered through VM Invoice interface are also visible in VirtueMart as if they were added using a standard checkout process.

I believe the stock levels updating was fixed already.

I am not familiar with the component from Joomla Cache you mention, so I cannot tell. We try to keep ours quite simple, focus on easy way to handle what its supposed to do. That is generating PDF invoices and possibility of manually accepting phone/mail orders.

Thanks for the info and thanks for the offer to try the test site djgr. I went ahead and bought it the night after I posted this and am pretty pleased. I do have some suggestions for improvement that would make it my primary go to for handling order processing but will post them in a different thread.
