Is it possible to create an delivery note without creating an invoice first? I dont want to be forced to create an invoice with an invoice number to create an delivery note.

I am sorry for late response. This is not possible at the moment and you can not create delivery note without creating invoice number. Automatic system to send emails is also not able to send delivery notes without invoices.
I think you are not first who is asking about this feature, but I didn't find anything about this feature in our future plans. I will add it there to confirmation.
