TOPIC: Change product price in 'order editing'

Change product price in 'order editing' 10 years, 9 months ago #42851

Hi,

When I take on an order from a customer via email I go to Order Editing and create a new order. Regularly I give a customer a special price. In the newest version of VM Invoice (I just updated to this version 2.0.28) I can't change the product price anymore.

Is there a setting where I can switch this feature back on? Please help, I need to change the price for some products on invoice's every day. If it's not possible to switch this feature on is there a way to downgrade to the latest version where I can change prices?

I hope to get a solution asap because I hardly can make my invoices this way.

Thanx!

Hello. From which version did you upgrade?

Since 2.0.25 there was change which made - by look - editing price more complicated ("calculation rules") because we need to reflect how VirtueMart 2 stores order prices. Editing by simple "boxes in table" were no more sustainable because prices are stored in much more in complicated way than in VM1.

Solutons how to change price can be more. If you want just to make price lower, you can change Cost price to new price and then click on Recompute Prices For Item » . If you want to add this price as discount (so user will see), add it as new calculation rule. Don't be confused by lot of options and try it :) After change of rules always click on Recompute Prices For Item » . Just try some simple solution that would work for you. Let us know if you encounter any bug or wrong behavior.

We know it looks complicated, but It's like pressing all the price functionality VM2 offers into one window.
We think that in future we will allow users editing price in simple way again, so they can just change what they see finally in PDF and don't care about how VM stores them.
